Hi, My name is Laurie Denison. I live on the west coast of Florida in Punta Gorda with my husband, Ray. Having a wonderful husband, 2 terrific sons, two delightful daughter-in-laws and two adorable grandchildren, I am certainly blessed. My sister introduced me to Decorative Painting about 15 years ago. It is truly one of my favorite pastimes. I began painting for the enjoyment of it, but gradually had to find a way to "support my hobby"! While we lived in Connecticut, I began doing craft fairs, then rented booths in gift shops there and in Cape Cod, MA. Over the years I have taken many seminars from several National teachers, including 4, week-long intensive color theory seminars with Barb Watson. Usually I like to paint with acrylics, but I also enjoy painting in oils. Realistic still lifes and Trompe L'oeil designs are my favorites. I love the challenge of making them look as real as possible. I've met so many wonderful painters during my journey in art and love sharing what I have learned with others.
